Where exactly does the Scan Engine get the updates from?When I log into the Symantec Scan Engine 5.1 web page and select Home on the left side of the page the "Date of Virus Definitions" is May of 2008. Edition 10.1.7.7000) definition is dated Feb 11, 2010.The user has to use the RDP client software for this purpose while the other computer must run RDP server software.These clients already exist for Windows OS and are readily available and used by the users.Another workaround which worked for a lot of users was editing the registry or the group policy to ensure that your computer doesn’t use the Easy Print drivers by default.

If the Symantec Scan Engine can use the i32 update, (I can look into 16-bit application issue later ) than what I need to do is fix why the Scan Engine is not updating it's definitions.After the Windows Fall Creators Update 1709, there were many instances where users complained that their RDP clients didn’t seem to work right.It either crashed in session or would even refuse to log in properly.I know these corporate editions never stop giving updates like defender.On the PC I am talking about only has this on as malware protection so other malware software is conflicting with it .
